Blogging apps for the iPhone

I couldn’t do without my iPhone – its near enough the perfect gadget for me, I took delivery the other day of the latest iPhone 3GS so now I can blog on the go. There are a number of apps available which cover all the main blogging platforms so in this post we’ll be taking a look at the options.

1. Wordpress for iPhone – “The only iPhone app that lets you write posts, upload photos, edit pages, and manage comments on your blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch. With support for both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (2.5.1 or higher).”

2. Typepad for iPhone – “Now you can blog directly from your iPhone with the new TypePad for iPhone Application. Blog your photos as soon as you take them, or upload photos to your blog from your in-camera gallery. Create and publish posts from your iPhone, or save them in draft form for editing and publishing later.”

3. Virtuesoft Blogwriter – Blog writer and RSS reader all in one app on your iPhone/iPod touch. Supported services :

Tumble – “Use Tumble to post photos, quotes, links and more to your Tumblr using just your iPhone or iPod Touch.”

iBlogger – Compatible with Wordpress, Expression Engine, Movable Type, Typepad, amongst others this app has all the usual features including posting of photos.
